I'm Musha. I'm based in Shelley near Huddersfield, and Leeds is a straightforward run up the M62 and M621, so it's well within my patch and I'm up there regularly. Leeds is a proper music city with a huge student and university scene and one of the most diverse crowds in the north, which is exactly where I'm at my best. Plenty of DJs open and close on the same chart and disco playlist, and I'll play that when the room asks for it, but afrobeats and amapiano are my real strength, sat alongside house, R&B, garage, hip-hop, bashment and old school. That mix lights up a Headingley student party and still keeps a mixed-age wedding crowd happy. Tell me who's in the room and I'll build the night around them rather than running a fixed set.
Leeds city centre is the heart of it, but I'm all over the wider area: Morley and Pudsey to the south and west, Horsforth and Headingley up north, Holbeck just below the centre, and Garforth out east, then back down toward Wakefield and home to Huddersfield. City-centre function room, a converted warehouse in Holbeck, a sports club bar in Garforth or a marquee out toward the edges, the gear travels and the sound fills the space either way.
