I'm Musha. I'm based in Shelley, a short run down the A629 from Halifax, and I'm in Calderdale most weekends for one event or another. The drive over the moors is part of the routine by now, so booking a DJ from the Huddersfield side means you get a proper rig and a full record bag without paying town-centre Halifax agency rates. Whatever the occasion in Halifax, the deal is the same: turn up early, set up properly, and don't leave the floor empty.
Plenty of DJs around Halifax open and close on the same chart and disco playlist. I'll play that when the room asks for it, but my real strength is the afrobeats and amapiano end of things, sat alongside house, R&B, garage, hip-hop, bashment and old school. That mix is what gets a younger Calderdale crowd moving at a 21st without losing the aunties and uncles at the same wedding. Tell me who's in the room and I'll build the night to suit them rather than running a fixed set.
Halifax town centre is the heart of it, but I cover the whole valley: Brighouse and Elland down toward the M62, Sowerby Bridge along the canal, Hipperholme, Greetland and the villages in between, then back over toward Huddersfield. Town hall function room, a converted mill, a sports club bar or a marquee out in the hills, the gear travels and the sound fills the space either way.
