I'm Musha, your local Holme Valley DJ, based right here in Shelley. Holmfirth is a short hop over the hill from me, so when you book a DJ for a do in the valley you are getting someone who actually knows the area, not a company sending a stranger down the M62. Five-plus years in and 5.0 rated, I bring my own sound, my own lights and a record bag that goes from Motown to amapiano, and I keep the floor full from the first song to the last.
House, afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop, garage, bashment, amapiano and old school, plus all the Motown, soul and chart bangers that get a mixed Yorkshire crowd going. The skill is reading the room in front of you, so a 60th in a village hall and a 21st in town get two completely different nights. From my base in Shelley I cover Holmfirth, Honley, Meltham, Holmbridge, New Mill, Netherthong and Brockholes, and back toward Huddersfield and Denby Dale. Out here the venues tend to be village halls, country pubs, marquees and converted barns rather than big hotel suites, and I'm set up for exactly that. Being genuinely local matters: I can swing by to look at an awkward room, I'm there early to set up properly, and you're not paying a big travel fee for someone coming from the other side of the county. PA, lighting and a smoke machine, packed into a rig that fills a barn or a hall just as easily as a pub back room.
