I'm Mason, better known as DJ Musha. I'm a mobile DJ from Shelley, just outside Huddersfield, and over the last five years I've played 213 events across Yorkshire, from weddings and big birthdays to corporate dos and club nights.
I started young. A few years back, during lockdown, I set my decks up out on Far Bank in Shelley and ran a social-distancing street disco for the neighbours, with everyone dancing on their own doorsteps. It ended up featured on YorkshireLive and on BBC Radio Leeds. I was 13. I've barely stopped since.
Since then I've packed more events into five years than a lot of DJs manage in ten. Weddings, 18ths and 21sts, milestone birthdays, corporate nights and resident club sets, all across Huddersfield, Kirklees and the wider county. I bring my own pro sound, my own lights, and a record bag that goes from Motown to amapiano without flinching.
Two things. First, when you book me, you get me, every event, not a stand-in. Second, I actually read the room rather than running the same set every time. Most DJs round here lead on Motown and chart, and I'll play that when the room wants it, but my real strength is the afrobeats and amapiano end of things. That's what gets a younger crowd moving at an 18th without losing the aunties and uncles at the same wedding.
